  • In 2000, DOT Audits were up by 96%
  • In 2001, the Audit Budget was increased by 54%
  • If you have a standard 1-ton pickup and are hauling a trailer, you may need a commercial drivers license!
  • Effective March of 2004, any driver who began driving a commercial motor vehicle after July 31st of 2003 must complete DOT specified training to educate the new employee in the necessary information to begin a professional driving career. This law applies to ANY person holding a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) There are NO exemptions to this requirement.
  • The minimum penalty for violations is $2,000.  And if you have two or three violations right off the bat, the penalties could easily run into several thousand dollars each.
  • An unsatisfactory rating can put you off the road, and, in some cases, completely out of business!
